Rafael Benitez wants to stay

Liverpool Manager Rafael Benitez has not received any offers and wants to stay at Liverpool, according to his agent.

Rafael Benitez has been strongly linked with a move to Old Lady Juventus and it had been believed that the deal was all but done, with the manager seeming to hint at an imminent move ahead of the weekend's crunch clash when he said: "Hopefully I will still be here on Sunday against Chelsea."

Reports on Tuesday have suggested his move to Juventus could now be in doubt and, as Rafael Benitez prepares to meet with new chairman Martin Broughton to discuss the future of the club, his agent has said the Spaniard has no plans to walk away.

"We have not received any offers from any club," Manuel Garcia Quilon said. "Rafael Benitez's aim is to remain at Liverpool and try to help the team improve with new owners. He is under contract and his wish is to remain at Liverpool."

Manuel Garcia Quilon had earlier been less clear about his client's future when he said: "This week Rafa will meet the president of the club. From what I know, he wants to stay on at Liverpool.
"Benitez wants to know the club's plans for future, what the investment in players will be like. For him, this is a very important detail.

"I have not made any agreement with Juventus. Rafa Benitez has four years on his contract with Liverpool."
The news comes amid reports Rafa Benitez has twice cancelled his planned meetings with Broughton. BBC Sport claims the Spaniard pulled out of a face-to-face meeting last week and another the week before, although his reasons for doing so are not clear.

"Tactically he's a very good manager and he's also shown he can deal with problems off the pitch. Benitez is a great professional that every team would like to have." "Benitez's CV is really good," Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon said on Sky Sports News.
