Zinedine Zidane: Domenech is not a coach
France 1998 world cup heroes Zinedine Zidane is the latest person to attack coach Raymond Domenech and claimed "there is no teamwork" among the French players at the 2010 South Africa World Cup.
France struggled to a 0-0 draw in their opening World Cup match against Uruguay on Friday and failed to break down the South Americans, creating only a few chances in the game.
Even when Uruguay went down to ten men with the sending off of Nicolas Lodeiro, France still failed to send men forward and Zinedine Zidane believes that it was down to a lack of team ethic.
"They didn't play together and it was more a case of individual efforts," Zidane said. "The players must take responsibility for themselves, move themselves. You have to be straight with each other."
"[Domenech] is not a coach. He picked his squad and he has to make them play together. You must put your ego to one side and work together. Teamwork is the most important thing, and that's not what we saw during the [Uruguay] match."
